Wrath of God

After the Rapture takes place and all the saved are supernaturally raised to meet Jesus in the clouds, the wrath of God will be poured out upon the Antichrist forces left behind. These final judgments will be delivered by “seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God” (Revelation 15:1). His wrath will be poured out in the form of seven vials or bowls, which represent global judgments unlike anything seen before in history, including the unleashing of “harmful and painful sores”; the death of every living thing in the seas, rivers, and springs; scorching heat from the sun, followed by darkness; the drying up of the rivers, and lastly a great earthquake with “flashes of lightning, rumblings and peals of thunder” (Revelation 16:2–4, 8, 10, 12, 18). These occur at the end of the great tribulation period and culminate in the Battle of Armageddon (Revelation 16:12–16; 19:11–21), just prior to Christ’s return to establish His millennial kingdom.
