Rapture
The “Rapture” refers to the physical removal of the church—all the believers—from the earth. The term itself is not found in Scripture but is used in reference to the Second Coming, when Jesus comes in the clouds with the souls of believers who have already died. They are reunited with their bodies, while Christians who are still alive are “caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air” (1 Corinthians 15:51–52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Matthew 24:29–31; Revelation 1:7).
