End Time (or Time of the End)
The end time or time of the end is mentioned in the book of Daniel in reference to the apocalyptic period immediately preceding the Second Coming of Christ, when a rebel king, the Antichrist, will arise and invade Israel (Daniel 11:40–45), and oppose “all that is called God or is worshipped” (2 Thessalonians 2:4). God’s people will be refined at this time by a period of “great tribulation such as has not been since the beginning of the world until now, no, and never will be” (Matthew 24:21), until “immediately after the tribulation of those days” the Rapture occurs, when all the saved shall be rescued and resurrected (Matthew 24:29).
