Two Witnesses
During the Great Tribulation, two prominent witnesses will come to the fore, who will prophesy for three and a half years clothed in sackcloth, in defiance of the Antichrist and his forces (Revelation 11:3–4). They will not only have power to bring fire down from God out of heaven to devour their enemies, but also to turn the waters into blood and to smite the earth with plagues. No one will be able to harm or stop them until they have finished their witness (Revelation 11:5–6), at which time the Antichrist is permitted to kill them (Revelation 11:7). Their dead bodies are left in the street for three and a half days, at which point they are resurrected at the Second Coming (Revelation 11:8–9, 11–12).
