Holy Covenant
A “covenant” is a pact, or solemn agreement. The signing of this covenant by the Antichrist will mark the start of his seven-year reign (Daniel 9:27). This covenant is mentioned several times in the Scriptures as a “holy covenant” (Daniel 11:28, 30). It appears to be some sort of religious pact by which Jerusalem may be declared an international city with free and equal access guaranteed to people of all faiths, allowing the Jewish people to rebuild their temple and reinstitute animal sacrifices on its altar (Daniel 9:27, 11:31, 8:11, 13–14).
