Abomination of Desolation

Jesus said, “When you see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place [the rebuilt Jewish temple], (let the reader understand). For then there will be great tribulation” (Matthew 24:15, 21; Daniel 11:31). In the book of Revelation, the abomination of desolation is referred to as the “image of the beast.” This image will speak and somehow have power to cause those who refuse to worship it to be killed (Revelation 13:14–15).
