Billy Graham: ‘The Days of Noah’ Are Returning to Earth
The Rev. Billy Graham warns in a message in the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association’s Decision magazine that God’s judgment is due to return to Earth.
The Baptist minister points to Genesis 6:5, which warns that God’s “great Day of Judgment” will come just as the floods came during Noah’s time--it could happen in 100 years or 1,000 years.
“Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the Earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually,” the verse from Genesis 6:5 reads.
The flood is also referenced in Matthew 24:37-39, which reads: “As the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”
Graham clarifies that he has no way of knowing when the end of the world will truly happen, writing that the “… closing days of history may be a hundred years or a thousand years from now.”
There are several signs that point to the End Times, Graham continues, including evidence of greed, sin, immorality, selfishness, a turning away from God, dishonesty and pride, to name a few.
The evangelical leader writes that although he does not know the exact date of God’s return, he does know that “the days of Noah are returning to the Earth, and a catastrophe as great and terrible awaits those who refuse to enter into the ark of salvation, which is Jesus Christ.”
Therefore, he urges all people to look to the story of Noah for guidance, explaining that the ark represents Jesus’ salvation.
“In this day, when the clouds of judgment are beginning to gather, Christ is the refuge. You must cross the threshold and pass into the ark. Accept Christ now as your Savior before it is too late,” Graham urges. “Are you in? You may be close, but are you inside? The universal and terrible storm is coming. The days of Noah may be soon upon us. Are you ready for the Day of Judgment?”
Graham adds that even if the world does not end during our lifetime, we all encounter God’s judgement when we die.
“Even if the world does not end in your lifetime in a cataclysmic judgment, the moment you die will be the end of the world for you. The world that you live in will die with you. Are you ready for death? Are you ready for the judgment that is to come the moment you step out into eternity?” the evangelical leader asks.
